WHEN WE DO A SITE ANALYSIS OUR LECTURERS WOULD SPLIT US IN DIFFERNT GROUPS AND LET US CHOOSE WHICH CATEGORY WE WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON, THESE CATEGORIES ARE BUILDINGS, URBAN ENVIRONMENT, ACCESIBILITY AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE SITE.
WE WOULD THEN DO A SITE VISIT AND GATHER THE INFORMATION OF THE CATEGORY THAT WE HAVE CHOSEN AS A GROUP AFTERWARDS WE PRESENT AND SHARE WITHIN THE ENTIRE COHOURT ABOUT THE ANALYSIS THAT WE HAVE FOUND TOGETHER AS GROUP, PERSONALLY FOR MY GROUP WE HAVE CHOSEN TO DO NATURAL ENVIRONMENT FOR THIS ISP 3 PROJECT.

SUPPORTIVE CONDITIONS
FASHION
PLQ'S MALL FACADE IS INSPIRED BY THE SONGKET WHICH IS A FABRIC THAT BELONGS TO THE BROCADE FAMILY OF TEXTILES OF THE MALAY, WHICH LED ME TO THE CONCLUSION OF USING FASHION AS ONE OF THE THEME THAT I COULD USE FOR THIS PROJECT.
ONE OF THE ADVANTAGES IS THAT THE COMPANY ITSELF IS ABLE TO COLLABORATE WITH OTHER RETAIL COMPANIES IN THE SURROUNDING AREAS AT THE SAME TIME EXPAND THE AWARNESS AND PURPOSE OF THE COMPANY ITSELF.
TECHNOLOGY
ACCORDING TO A 2018 REPORT FROM UNITED NATIONS ECONOMIC COMMISION THE FASHION INDUSTRY ENVIRONMENTAL CARBON FOOTPRINT IS ONE OF THE LARGEST IN THE WORLD, THE APPERAL INDUSTRY PRODUCES 20% GLOBAL WATER WASTE AND 10% GLOBAL CARBON EMMSION WHILE 85% OF TEXTILES ARE SENT TO LANDFILLS EACH YEAR (21 BILLION).
THROUGH THIS REPORT I WANTED TO USE TECHNOLOGY TO INNOVATE AND ENHANCE THE WAY CLOTHES ARE PRODUCED IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY TO REDUCE CARBON EMMSION AND USAGE OF RAW MATERIALS.
WHAT TYPE OF FASHION
AMONGST THE FASHION INDUSTRY I DECIDED TO GO WITH SPORTS FASHION AS IT FITS WELL TO HOW THE GOVERMENT OF SINGAPORE CONSTANTLY PROMOTING HEALTH CARE TOWARDS THE LOCALS SINCE 2012 WHEN THE 'HEALTHY LIVING MASTER PLAN' TASKFORCE WAS FORMED.
THIS ISSUE WAS RASIED DURING THE 2012 'OUR SINGAPORE CONVERSATION (OSC) WHERE MANY LOCALS WERE INVITED TOO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS AND VIEWS ON HOW THEY ENVISION SINGAPORE IN 2020.
AND THROUGH THIS ONE OF THE WAYS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH WAS THROUGH PYSICAL ACTIVITY.

WHY ADIDAS
ADIDAS MAKES 400 MILLION SHOES EVERY YEAR AND MANUFACTURING THOSE SHOES TAKES A LOT OF RESOURCES BUT CONSTANTLY USING NEW RESOURCES ISN’T GREAT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
EXPERTS PREDICTS THAT IN 30 YEARS THERE WILL BE MORE PLASTIC IN OUR OCEAN THAN FISH AND ONE STUDY ESTIMATES THAT 90% OF SEABIRDS HAVE CONSUMED SOME FORM OF PLASTIC WASTE. THESE ARE BOTH HARMFUL TO MARINE LIFE AND PEOPLE SO ADIDAS HAS TAKEN ACTION BEFORE THE PLASTIC REACHES THE OCEAN.
ON 2015 ADIDAS TEAMED UP WITH ‘PARLEY (PLAY FOR THE OCEANS)’ AND THERE GOAL WAS TO TURN MARINE POLLUTION INTO SPORTS WEAR. ACCORDING TO ADIDAS THE PARTNERSHIP HAS PREVENTED 2810 TONNES OF PLASTIC FROM REACHING THE OCEAN.
'PARLEY’ AND ITS PARTNERS COLLECT TRASH IN COASTAL AREAS LIKE THE MALDIVES
THE RECORVED PLASTIC ARE SENT TO AN ADIDAS PROCESSING PLANT AND USUALL Y THESE PLASTIC BOTTLES CONTAIN ‘PET’ (THE PLASTIC CUPS AND RINGS THOSE GET SENT TO NORMAL RECYCLING FACILITIES.)
ADIDAS USES OCEAN PLASTIC TO FORM THE UPPER PARTS OF SHOES AND CLOTHING LIKE JERSEYS
THE PROCESSING PLANT CRASHES, WASHES AND DEHYDRATES THE WASTE, LEAVING SMALL PLASTIC PLATES
THE ‘PARLEY’ COLLECTION IS MADE FROM AT LEAST 75% MARIN TRASH AND THEY STILL MEET THE SAME PERFORMANCE AND COMFORT STANDARDS OF ADIDAS OTHER SHOES.
THE FLAKES ARE THEN HEATED DRIED AND COOLED THEN CUT INTO SMALL RESIN PALLETS, THESE PALLETS CREATE A FILAMENT WHICH IS SPUN TO A FORM OF POLYESTER YARN WHICH IS WHAT THEY CALL AS OCEAN PLASTIC.

LEVEL 6 IS MAINLY DEDICATED FOR BOTH THE STAFF AND CUSTOMERS AS THAT'S WERE MOST OF THE ACTIVITIES WOULD TAKE PLACE.
THESE ACTIVITIES INVOLVES:
RECEPTION, DESIGNER SPACE, PIGMENTATION, MATERIAL SPACE, PROJECTION AREA, COLLABORATION AREA, QUIET SPACE AND A PANTRY

LEVEL 7 IS SPECIFICALLY DEDICATED FOR THE STAFF AS THATS WHERE THEIR OFFICES WILL BE STATIONED, THE ACTIVITIES THAT PLACE HERE ALSO CATERS TO THE STAFF NEEDS.
THESE ACTIVITIES INVOLVES:

SINCE I WAS FOCUSING ON SPORTS FASHION I NEEDED MY MATERIAL TO BE FLAMOYANT AND PLAYFUL BUT AT THE SAME TIME HAS AN INDUSTRIAL LOOK TO THE SPACE ITSELF.

WHAT IS MARRIAGE
TWO PEOPLE MAKE A PUBLIC PLEDGED OR COMMITMENT TO LIVE TOGETHER AND SHARE THEIR LIVES IN A THAT IS RECOGNISED LEGALLY, SOCIALLY AND SOMETIMES RELIGIOUSLY.
HOWEVER MARRIAGE CAN ALSO BE INTERPRETED IN A VARIETY OF WAYS DUE TO MANY DIFFERENT VIEWS AND UNDERSATNDINGS OF WHAT MARRIAGE IS, SO FINFING THE TRUE MEANING OF MARRIAGE IS CHALLENGING.
HOW DO WE INTERPRET LOVE/MARRIAGE


AT THE BEGINNING I WANTED TO USE 'TRIANGLES' AS A CONCEPT FORM IN ROM/M TO REPRESENT THE MEANING OF MARRIAGE AS IT REPRESENTS STABILITY AND IT RELATES WELL TO THE FACADE OF THE SITE.
HOWEVER THE AMBIENCE THAT I WANTED TO PORTRAY IN THE SPACE WAS 'TRANQUIL' AND 'SERENITY' WHICH CONTRADICTS TO THE RIGIDNESS OF THE FORM THAT I WAS USING.
WITH THIS I DECIDED TO MAKE THE 'TRIANGULAR' FORM MORE CURVILINEAR AND BY DOING SO IT RESEMBLED THE FORM OF WHAT TOPOGRAPHY LOOKS LIKE FROM A TOP VIEW, WHICH GAVE ME THE IDEA TO USE TOPOGRAPHY AS A CONCEPT TO CREATE COHESIVE ATMOSPHERE BETWEEN THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR OF THE SITE.
HOW DOES TOPOGRAPHY RELATE TO LOVE/MARRIAGE AND THE SITE
THE DIFFERNT LEVELS OF TOPOGRAPHY REPRESENT THAT LOVE IS NOT A SMOOTH SURFACE, IT HAS IT'S UPS AND DOWNS
THE SITE ITSELF IS ON TOPOGRAPHY AND SUROUNDED BY NATURE
TOPOGRAPHY
THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF TOPOGRAPHY REPRESENT THE PROCESS THAT THE COUPLE HAS TO GO THROUGH TO GET MARRIED
TOPOGRAPHY RELATES BACK TO THE NATURAL SUROUNDINGS IN THE AREA

TOPOGRAPHY CREATES A TRANQUIL AMBIENCE WITH IN THE SITE

TO USE TOPOGRAPHY TO FORM A CORRELATION BETWEEN THE EXTRIOR AND INTERIOR THROUGH VARIETY AND UNITY TO CREATE HARMONY THROUGHOUT THE SITE.
